DST WITH MOBILE APPS and FINAL TASK
In this module you will be given different tools to create stories using mobile devices.
In most schools students are not allowed to bring their mobile devices (BYOD) so you may not have the opportunity to work with the tools we are going to present in this module. But knowing about them can be very attractive for you, DIGITAL TEACHERS!!! So, I highly RECOMMEND you to have an attentive look at them !!!
DIGITAL STORYTELLING WITH MOBILE APPS- http://www.slideshare.net/ShellTerrell/motivating-teens-with-mobile-devices (explanation in a very interesting way)
- http://nicertube.com/ (to use videos safely with your students)
- http://safeshare.tv/ (the safest way to watch and share youtube and vimeo videos) videos.
EXAMPLES OF RUBRICS TO ASSESS THE TASK :- https://www2.uwstout.edu/content/profdev/rubrics/videorubric.html (one among the hundreds examples you can use. Obviously you can design your own rubric adapted to the objectives and contents of the task you prepare)
FINAL TASK
You have been given two weeks to complete your final task because it requires: planning + design + implementation + assessment.
The final task consists in: You are going to create a story WITH your students in class. You can choose ANY of the tools you have been presented throughout or your students can choose one. You can create a collaborative story or students can create different stories working in groups. YOU CAN EVEN CREATE ONE USING APPS!!! If your students create different stories in groups, you will submit a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 5. If you work collaboratively, submit the class final product.
You will take into account the following steps:
• PLANNING: timing
• DESIGN: how do you present the activity to your students? (remember that you can use some of the resources learned in this course to present the activity in a motivating way)
• IMPLEMENTATION: your students DO the task in class. Collect every single piece of essential information about the development of the task (students' interest, implication, enjoyment, effectiveness...)
• ASSESSMENT: use KAHOOT to assess the activity.
You will submit the four documents listed above. Remember that KAHOOT creates a page with the students' results.
